Guidelines amounts have come down to about 10%, previously at 20%, of daily calories from sugar. This is between 6-9 tsps per day of ADDED sugar. The problem is that all of us have an individual gut flora, some may be more protected than others. This will change according to existing health, long term health, diet, genetics, and a great many other factors. I would err on the side of caution and stop using any added sugars at all if I were you. Erythrol and stevia may be used as a stop gap.
